Chippenham’s
Doorway Project, which provides a variety of assistance and
services to the homeless in the district, have been presented
with a new colour printer by members of Chippenham & District
Round Table.
The
Doorway Project is based at the Salvation Army hall in Foghamshire
and offers food, washing facilities and general help and advice
to the homeless and relies upon charitable donations to carry
out its work.
Andrew
Baddeley – Chappell, Chairman of Chippenham Round Table
comments “ We recently invited someone from Doorway
to one of our meetings to learn more about the work they do.
They mentioned that they were desperately in need of a new
colour printer, as the one they were using was very slow and
didn’t do double-sided printing. We were so impressed
with their efforts that Round Table agreed to purchase a new
printer for them.
Round
Table raise money through local events such as running the
barbeque when the Christmas Lights are switched on, and organising
the Children’s Fun Day in John Coles Park, so it’s
good to put some of that money back into a local cause such
as Doorway.”
Mrs
Margaret Cleverley, Manager of Doorway, added “ we are
very grateful to Round Table for this new printer which will
enable us to be more efficient and produce better quality
documents and reports for Doorway.”
The
new printer was handed over to Doorway at the Salvation Army
hall.
