Film Screening – 7th March
Following on from the success of last year’s showing of the film ‘Cathy Come Home’ in the presence of legendary director Ken Loach, Doorway is pleased to be hosting another film night on Friday 7th March at Neeld Community and Arts Centre, where we will show documentary film ‘Someone’s Daughter, Someone’s Son’. Award winning director Lorna Tucker became homeless at 14 and spent two years living on the streets where she slept under Waterloo Bridge, and in and out of sheltered accommodation. Based on Lorna’s own experiences, the film explores how the UK can put an end to homelessness and has garnered support from people across the country; notably Sam Fender, and Bryan Adams, who also wrote a song exclusively for the film.
Shelter and Crisis said: “This powerful film is a rallying call that homelessness is not inevitable, and we can end the housing emergency for good.”
Tickets priced at £10.00 and are available to book via this link Neeld Community and Arts Centre or direct with Neeld Community & Arts centre box office.
Fundraising & Events Team
We’re always looking to expand our team of fundraising volunteers who can attend ad hoc events or spend some time planning new events on Doorway’s behalf. These might be people with some fundraising experience or ideas, or just a bit of time to spare, who can, with training, represent Doorway and raise awareness and funds in the community.
If this would appeal to you, we’d love to hear from you!
